Objective of the Scheme: Quality Higher Education is the area of concern for the State Government. The Right to Education (RTE), ACT, 2005 implemented countrywide, basically focuses on Primary and Secondary Education. The Government of Goa has a laudable objective of Universalizing Higher and Technical Education in the State, thereby raising the Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) to around 45 from the present 32.2. It is desired that Higher and Technical Education does not become the privilege of the selected few. With this sole objective in mind, Scheme for the grant of financial assistance towards the fees paid for various courses under Higher and Technical Education has been formulated.
The Goa Education Development Corporation (GEDC) has been implementing the “Sant Sohirobanath Ambiye Dnyanvruddhi Shishyavrutti” (Bursary Scheme) since 2014 onwards, every year around 600 Goan students benefit under the scheme. Upto Rs. 40,000/- is disbursed to needy students whose family income is below Rs. 5.00 Lakhs and studying in educational institutions located in the State of Goa. The students pursuing diploma courses after S.S.C., Graduation courses after H.S.S.C and P.G. courses after Graduation can apply under the scheme provided they fulfil the eligibility criteria listed under the scheme.
The scheme for academic year 2023-24 and 2024-25 is now open.
The applicants may download the form, fill in the details, attach the requisite documents in hard copy and submit the form on working days in the GEDC office between 10.00 am to 12.00 pm. and 3.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. The last date for submission of the form along with the requisite documents is 17/03/2025.
Kindy note; two separate applications need to be submitted in case of students applying for both years.

2. Fill the form.
3. Attach all the relevant documents.
4. Separate form needs to be filled for each year.
5. Submit the duly filled form to GEDC office within the stipulated time period. i.e. by 17/03/2025.
6. Latest income certificate to be submitted.
